SVP, Technology Solutions

The SVP, Technology Solutions is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the organization as a business strategist and a solutions architect. Using an active, innovative, strategic and practical approach, the SVP, Technology Solutions will drive the Technology Solutions department, including functions of the web & application development and infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate is well-versed in tools & technologies impacting membership-driven organizations and has demonstrated excellent customer service and consultative skills. Applying a servant leadership philosophy, the SVP, Technology Solutions will also have experience working within or providing services to both non-profit and for-profit businesses through leading teams (both client and staff) located in remote offices as well as teleworkers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes the company's technical vision and leads all aspects of the company's technological development. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization's technical function and performance.
  • Collaborates with client organizations and their Boards to align technology initiatives with the organization's strategic and tactical plans; develop goals and strategy plans for Web site development, use and testing; and develop usability testing plans to measure the ease with which Web-based tasks are accomplished.
  • Spots emerging possibilities in the market and throughout the association and non-profit community from a technology perspective. Continually deepens understanding of member needs, challenges, and online behavior. Shifts technology priorities in response to new conditions.
  • Focuses on the user experience across the organization's digital ecosystem. Ensures that technology is used to its full potential and systems work together for optimal business operations.
  • Identifies which applications and workloads are better outsourced than hosted on premise.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
  • Implements recommended security solutions and policies. Educates staff on sound cybersecurity practices.
  • Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Functions as a coach to less experienced team members, on technical, operational, and team behavior issues; communicates information and champions excellence.
  • Provides leadership in a fashion that supports the company's culture, mission and values.
  • Determines staffing requirements, and interviews, hires and trains new employees, or oversees those personnel processes. Management of internal staff to include training, coaching and additional administrative duties, as needed.
  • Maintains an appropriate professional and office organizational structure, fosters a success-oriented, mutually respectful, accountable work environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BS in related field and at least 15 years' experience in the Information Technology and Web/Applications arena; Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of successful executive-level technology leadership experience in an association/non-profit or equivalent experience as a senior-level association/nonprofit technology consultant; CAE (Certified Association Executive) preferred.
  • Understands how technology, processes, and people work together to serve the business needs of their staff and the business objectives of the organization; and how data can be used to inform business decisions.
  • Possesses the understanding and ability to benchmark IT costs for both corporate and client organizations and align to such benchmarks as applicable.
  • Demonstrated success in developing IT and web & apps strategies that leverage technology to achieve the organization's strategic goals.
  • Excellent executive presentation skills with the ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive experience and ability to drive adoption of proven Project Management methodologies and tools with strong multidisciplinary project skills, and innovative approach to business/technical planning.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong, effective organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to create and manage high performance teams, and work independently and as a strong team player, under pressure, with hands-on technical skills.

 

FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt, Salary
