IT Systems Administrator

As an IT Systems Administrator, you establish and support the core technical infrastructure for a company with multiple regional sites. You will maintain a mix of bare metal and virtual servers in a primarily Microsoft environment which supports Web, file storage, SQL Server, and several server and cloud-based solutions. At a networking level, you will support site-to-site communications and security.

The IT Systems Administrator serves as part of the support team by helping monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues (especially those with server components).

Successful candidates for this role will balance technical savvy, continuous learning, and a passion for customer satisfaction and results.

  • Maintain server and network hardware infrastructure (hardware)
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2012 R2) in bare metal and virtual environment
  • Install, configure, and maintain VMWare host
  • Install, configure, and maintain network-related hardware/appliances
  • Active Directory administration
  • Network/server security
  • Disaster recovery/server backups (VEEAM)
  • Office 365/ Exchange Online administration
  • VoIP phone administration
  • Overflow support for tier-1/tier-2 support
  • Some travel may be required (<20%)
  • Availability for after-hours as needed

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2-5 years' standing up and maintaining a Windows server environment (including administration of file shares and permissions)
  • 2-5 years' VMWare administration
  • 2-5 years' maintaining Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DCHP administration and structure.
  • 2-5 years' work with team to administer and provide 2nd level support for desktops, laptops, servers and printers to investigate and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • High school or GED required
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (phone and in person)
  • Experience supporting applications
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Experience supporting applications based upon .NET a plus
  • Experience with use of relational databases a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications a plus
