Position Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor supervises all shipping associates and shipping/receiving operations including hiring, training, daily direction, and evaluation. This is a hands on - working Supervisor position.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist and oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • Determining work procedures and managing workflow
  • Ensuring shipping area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors
  • Compiling and maintaining applicable metrics as required
  • Document daily activities, send to the incoming supervisor and provide updates on all inventories on the shipping floor
  • Responsible to manage daily goals and efficiencies
  • Ensure proper communication of schedule and specifications daily to staff
  • Meet quality standards
  • Effective training of new hires
  • Oversee and follow all safety and quality policies
  • Maintain a clean well organized work area
  • Manage the inventory counts and item bin locations of the warehouse
  • Work with accounting personnel to correct inventory variances
  • Manage Shipping and Receiving documentation and paperwork
  • All other duties directed by Senior Management

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED is required. Associate's degree in a technical field is preferred.
    • 2+ years prior supervisory experience in a distribution and/or inventory management environment
    • Ability to work in a team environment and a diverse workforce.
    • Ability to operate a forklift is desired
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Quality, safety minded, reliable, precise, and self-motivated.
    • Listen, train, mentor and coach to help all employees achieve their best performance
    • Organize and conduct informational staff meetings
    • Open communication between management, operations, & QA
    • Physical requirements include: lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time
